hello all . this was my first hackintosh and it went very well .

ga p35 ds3p - 12£

basic atx 500w psu 12£

9600gt 1gb 10£

2gb ddr2 value ram 8£

old 80gb IDE HDD 3£

legitimate ls install disk was used via a ide dvd drive from a old g4 on the same feed as the hdd.
tonymac snow leopard guide was followed and it has been great ever since .
the only changes i had to make were to the applehd and voodoohd . apart from that everything is great . the latest iboot (normal) and multibeast were used

i have to say after 12 or so years of using windows . i have been using osx for just two weeks now and i will never go back windows .
everything sounds and looks better.

cheers

Congrats on getting that old hardware to run Snow Leopard. Most here do prefer
OS X to windows, that's why we go through all this trouble to get it working on
PC hardware, it's worth it.

cheers .
I have just realised how void the title of my thread is as i forgot to key in the cost of the cpu .£14

i am going to add a IDE HDD array . i do enjoy old ide drives they seem to always outlast my sata drives . and so cheap second hand (never buy seagate )

i am trying with some newer hardware at the moment but progress is quite slow . a rev.1 ds3h z77 with a pentium g620 and the 9600gt from my other build .the older setup was more fun

the cpu i forgot to mention was a e8400 .

*edit i have now donated that machine to an elderly couple and it is running raid 1 and time machine working like a charm for them .
