Problem: I can't get the bdmesg command to work in terminal on one of my OSX installations.

Situation: I created two partitions and installed MacOS Sierra 10.12.6 to both of them for troubleshooting purposes. One is my old installation on partition "Macintosh HD", and the new clean installation is on partition "TestOS". If I run bdmesg in terminal on the "Macintosh HD" installation, I get a boot log. If I do the same on "TestOS", I get this error:

-bash: /usr/bin/bdmesg: No such file or directory

Why does bdmesg work in a used installation but not in a clean one?

The install location of that program changed some time ago
Code:
which bdmesg
/usr/local/bin/bdmesg

I see. So basically a clean installation of OSX would not have anything in the /usr/local/bin folder because I haven't done the post-installation steps and installed Clover to "TestOS". Is this this correct answer?

If you didn't install Clover, you don't have bdmesg.
