The Fenvi FV-T919 AC1300/BT4 PCIe card is now available at Newegg for a limited time. It uses the Broadcom BCM94360 card which is the same card as in the iMac, and, thus, compatible with our hackintoshes.

But, in addition to being only available for a short time on Newegg, it's on sale, too! $55 shipped until September 07, 2018.

Advantage of buying from Newegg is you won't have to wait weeks to get it shipped from China. If you ever need to return it, just send it back to Newegg within 30 days of purchase. These work OOB and are the best choice if you need working continuity and handoff, apple watch unlock etc. BT range is the best I've tested.

Last 16 hours of the sale starts now. I'm sure that Newegg will keep selling these but probably closer to 70-74 dollars once this is over. To get one in 2-3 days, free shipping is nice. Having easy 30 day returns is even better. Shipping one back to China gets very complicated and expensive.

Just ordered one for my hackintosh home computer build, wish I had got this a month back when I built my office Hack instead of paying $150 on the osxwifi one.

I'm not really sure why they charge that much for a Wifi / BT Card in a PCIe adapter. I'd guess they were aware that millions are now making their own PCs to run macOS and that they needed a native solution. It's a good thing that Fenvi is giving them some competition in this market. It seems that the OS X Wifi card gives you the option to install the adapter into any PCIe slot. A x16 or a x8 or x4 instead of just in a x1 slot like in the Fenvi version. That's the only difference I'm aware of.

Looks like OSX Wifi has lowered their price by 10 dollars.

Here is their statement from "About Us" on their website.

What we do: Our products were developed as a result of an extensive market research, which helped us to identify a need for native support for original apple wireless cards on PC/Hackintosh. What started out as a single solution for our needs, led to a range of products developed with an intention to help to provide power, range, and compatibility that have not been offered before.

Since they are US based they are obviously buying the parts from China and then reselling them. So they have a fairly hefty markup to make a profit. That's the way business works.

The prices on these things do seem quite insane when you consider that Apple BCM94360CS2 cards can be found for just $6 and that's from a US based seller. They can be found for even less if you don't mind waiting for delivery from China based sellers.

If your computer has an M.2 slot, adaptors can be found for under $6 too albeit from China based sellers.

If you don't have an M.2 slot and must use a PCI-e solution, here's a complete kit for $27.

Of course, these are all BCM94360CS2 based which I believes tops out at 867Mbps whereas the one listed in post #1 tops out at 1300Mbps. That being said, I regularly see about 40-50MB/s writes to my NAS with 867Mbps which is plenty for me.

Should I only get this if I'm building a laptop and not a desktop? I'm building a desktop. Right now I have Mac 14,2. Will anything change if I get this card?
