Hi
I took the route of USB to M2 adapter. Far more slimmer and these days you can get 128Gb M2 very cheap.
My one is only USB3 not USB-C since all my rigs do not have it.
Only thing to be aware is the M2 'side' you want since some might not support all flavours.
Since I do have few M2 128Gb, it is easy to carry them all and swap them very quickly if needed.
