Will I have to do this every time I install an update to El Capitan 10.11?
Yes.
OS X does not support x99. MultiBeast 8 does not support x99 audio.
Back up working S/L/E/AppleHDA.kext, install after each update.

@toleda

1. I've placed the original AppleHDA.kext back.
2. I used: II. Realtek ALC AppleHDA Scripts -> http://audio_realtekALC-110.command.zip
- this way audio worked without the zml.zlib files from the MultiBeast 8,
- removed from config AppleHDA patch (from Kernel and Kext Patches)
3. I did the "surgery" again on the new AppleHDA.kext, I've switched all 3 layout instead of one (3 was before), then installed the kext.
4. I did found after all realtekHDA.kext in /Libraries/Extensions
- changed the Info.plist, again for all 3 layouts

And after many hours spent is working now.
Thanks again for your help and patience !

Your surgery removed Software Update audio persistence.
Backup S/L/E/AppleHDA.kext and L/E/realtekALC.kext to restore audio.

Hello toleda,

i hope you can help me. I have the Intel HD 4600 with a Mainboard with Realtek ALC887 Chipset. My OSX Version is El capitan 10.11.2 . My Bootloader is Ozmosis.

I need to get Sound and HDMI Audio to work. I already installed the AppleHDA887v100302 with Kextutility but it didnt work. Which installation-method do you recommend me?

By the way, if i go to Systemreport/ Hardware / Audio he shows me that i have an Intel High Definition Audio with Audio ID 0 (if this is important).

Do i need to restore the original AppleHDA.kext before i start you method?

Can u please explain it step by step? I am very new to this and its very complicated.

Thank you in advance.

Not an installation method.
See Realtek ALC Installation Methods/Post #1
If no audio, see Troubleshooting/Problem Reporting/Post #1

The problem is that i have no Clover as Bootloader. I already downloaded Multibeast for El Capitan but it didnt work because i dont use Clover. Or did you mean something else?

Do i need to change the Audio ID from 0 to 1 somehow?

Hello Toleda

I am attempting active the onboard audio on this motherboard

Gigabyte GA-B75M-HD3 rev1.0
Audio codec: Realtek ALC887
BIOS version F5 (last version)
Bootloader: Clover last version
OSX: Mavericks 10.9.5

and i have troubles for run the script with this method

Download script (select one script, Download/View Raw)
audio_cloverALC-110.command.zip

patch kernel cache
no edits to any native AppleHDA.kext file
2-4 files added to Resources folder

When i want run the script and with the volume EFI mounted shows this error "No audio codec detected"

I know that the audio onboard is working because works on windows

Ideas

Greetings
