clarify what 1.1 means
For Audio ID: (MultiBeast > Drivers > Audio > RealtekALCxxx)
1 = √ ALC xxx (default)
2 = √ ALC xxx plus √ Optional 3 Port (5.1) Audio
3 = √ ALC xxx plus √ Optional HD 3000/HD 4000 HDMI Audio

Excellent guide. I'm still running into issues with Realtek alc1220 (kaby lake) on a GA-H270n-Wifi board with optical out. Headphone out works fine, and I'm not planning on doing audio over HDMI any time soon, but I really want SPDIF as I'm mainly using this as an HTPC. I've tried various combinations with Lilu, ALC, renamed HDAS to HDEF. Any words of wisdom?

Sorry about the double post, I had originally typed that as an edit to my original within this thread and apparently ended up in another. I now have audio out working well over optical due to changing my id to 11 within my config.plist. However, I can't get 5.1 output through. I'm using a reference mp4 in plex, but still getting output in stereo only. Is there any workaround for this on kaby lake?

Huge thanks Toleda! I upgraded from Yosemite to Sierra and everything went well (after disabling SIP) but had no sound device on my ALC898 :( Native AppleHDA -> Inject 2 -> Audio_CloverALC did the trick! Everything works fine now :) Thanks again!

I followed the fix Baby Lake 200 fix with my ALC1150. Now I've got sound, but extremely quiet. I powered everything to the maximum, but it's still rare to hear. Also they are Speakers connected through AUX
