I've attempted to follow Toleda's guide but I'm uncertain what I should do now.I have a gigabyte z170xp-sli with an 1150 alc codec. It seems no matter what I try it will not work. I have attached a screenshot of what happens when I run IOReg. HDAS is present. Then I get confused on what the next step is. Can someone point me in the right direction? After restarting there are no audio devices visible. I have installed OS X 10.12 on this machine. everything else seems to work except the audio.
My mobo has 6 jacks on the back for audio plus a headphone jack on the front panel.

Thanks!

MacOS does not recognize HDAS, HDEF required. Fix:
MultiBeast 9+ > Drivers > Audio > RealtekALCxxx √ ALC1150
plus √ 100/200 Series Audio

Ok. I've tried that but I guess I'll have to install it manually. If I run multibeast it doesn't seem to rename HDAS to HDEF. Is there something I'm not doing right?

You can't install the fix with Multibeast as far as I know.

Get Clover Configurator, open your config.plist then go to ACPI - Patches - dropdownlist "list of Patches" and add "change "HDAS to HDEF"

Not correct, select: √ 100/200 Series Audio

Oh okay, sorry. :) Seems like I did it manually in then I think.

Not recommended, removes settings without warning.

What do you mean by this? I did it with clover, isn't it almost the same? I mean, either you click through it with multibeast audio -> 100/200Series Audio, or you do it with clover, right?

Just wanna know why it isn't recommended, for me nothing got removed I think.

multibeast audio -> 100/200Series Audio is a Clover/config.plist edit.

Won't know when it does until there is a problem on restart, no backup. MultiBeast only adds what is requested.

I'm not sure where to mark this as solved at. I got my audio working finally.
