I'm having this weird annoyance on my machine. The sound has a delay of 3-4 seconds (notifications, youtube videos, other videos).

I installed Yosemite 10.10.5 using Chimera (previous unibeast) method. In multibeast I selected VoodooHDA v2.8.7, and after fixing the noise gain issue with a modified kext to keep the VoodooHDA settings after reboot, I finally got sound... but with the delay/lag.

Mobo: Gigabyte Z97M-DS3H
Speaker: regular Dell speakers with green audio jack connected to the green input on mobo and usb to power it.

Is there something I missed? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance! :)

Anyone? I can't figure this out

Thanks I will try this.

I installed Yosemite 10.10.5 with MultiBeast 7.5 (Drivers > Audio > Universal > VoodooHDA v2.8.7) though (not clover), is there something I should watch out for?

Edit: Nevermind, it is working now.

Thanks P1LGRIM!

For anybody interested, I used this method:

III. Piker-Alpha AppleHDA8sries Script

  1. Download script (see README)
    1. Piker-Alpha/AppleHDA8Series.sh (10.10 working, 10.11TBA, 10.11 fix, see below)
      • patch alias
      • no edits to any native AppleHDA.kext file
      • installs AppleHDAxxx.kext (ex., S/L/E/AppleHDA892.kext)
  2. Terminal (select one)
    1. ALC audio/Clover patch:
      • $ ./AppleHDA8Series.sh
    2. ALC audio:
      • $ ./AppleHDA8Series.sh -b AppleHDA
    3. ALC audio and HD4600 HDMI audio:
      • $ ./AppleHDA8Series.sh -b AppleHDA -b AppleHDAController
  3. Enter Password
  4. ... choose desired codec: (1-7)
  5. ... layout-id (y/n)
  6. Answer questions (y/n)
  7. 10.11 fix, see Credit/lisai9093 (below)
  8. Restart

Seems I was too early celebrating... the audio lag is still there (eg.: Change volume from menu bar: 3 seconds before audio notification is heard. Empty trashcan: 3 to 4 seconds before the 'rippling paper' sound is heard).
