Mate, I answered your question....

Man, it is strange to find your own post when looking for the solution to your problem.
In 2016 I am still getting audio dropouts, and I still don't know what causes it.

I asked about GVA errors because I saw them in my log, but I don't know if it is related to the audio dropout.

My log shows:
HTML:
iTunes: GVA error: flow_KE1 physicalAcceleratorCreate 1

Then if I wait a few minutes I get another log message:
HTML:
kernel: Sound assertion in AppleHDAFunctionGroup at line 1058
which fixes my audio. I do not need to restart, or touch anything, just wait a few seconds or minutes.

Anyway, if anyone can shed some light on this issue, please comment.

My hardware is GA-Z97X-UD5H ALC1150 using patched DSDT with audio layout 1 and cloverALC on OS X 10.11.3.

I found a fix/workaround for this by using an aggregate device in Logic/Cubase...

You can create an aggregate device in Audio/Midi setup (under launchpad -> other)

Hi.. I know it has been ages but I am searching for the same solution as you, I think. I to suffer the same audio drop-outs but also I have some high "clicks" at the beginning of a sound, like when I send an email and the swoosh sound plays, it starts with a high sounding click like when you plug-in a jack into a loudspeaker.
Did you ever find a permanent solution and what is causing this issue?

Anyone?
Is there any audio-specialist in here that can help with the issue. I have been fighting this ever since around when El Capitan came out..
