Well I'm looking for an audio card as I'd like to improve the sound with a card with an amp. Just curious, any lists for safe cards? The wiki says most mobo's work, but as far as i see, the brands i want aren't mentioned there.

Are you talking about getting an external sound card or PCI or using internal sound on motherboard? I am running an external USB soundcard (Focusrite Saffire 6 USB) and it works a treat in my hack.

I think an external card is safer on a hack given that you are using PC Hardware rather then Apple's EFI hardware.
