For all 4x40s new series!
Anybody has tried to change Info.plist ID's? As for DSDT fix i don't understand what to change there:

Atheros AR9485 has 168C:0032
By the way, we have Atheros AR9485 driver for SUSE linux. Is it possible to port it into OSX?
I've attached this one.

Other way is to edit current EEPROM of AR9485, but i don't knowhow. The final decision will leads into getting fastest and modern mini half-pcie card, that can be used in osx and Windows and linux. Because if i change EEPROM of AR9485 i think i can't use it in windows or linux. Of course if i choose only osx as a main and only one system, i can take decision on that, but we need more flexible solution independent from OS. And wee sometimes need Bluetooth - e.g. for mouse or other things. Ideally it will be combo-card BT+WIFI. FYI - in new macbook pro they use BCM4331 3 × 3 chipset, but i don't know what half mini pci-e card uses same chip.

As per HP [link] http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...=5229455&prodTypeId=321957&objectID=c03351762 [/link]

HP Probook 4540s supported WLAN module are:
Code:
*
Atheros 9485GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and 3012 Bluetooth 4.0 combo adapter & Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi adapter
Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and 20702 Bluetooth 4.0 combo adapter
Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230
Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235
Ralink WLAN Ralink Ripple3 RT5390F_802.11 b/g/n 1x1 PCIe HMC
I am confuse which Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi adapter they install among them. As I have bluetooth 4.0 and manufactorur shown as Atheros so guess it's PCIe combo and Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and 20702 Bluetooth 4.0 combo adapter is the best choice. But does it have a driver?

Also seen no mention

about bluetooth module replacement in those guide giving me confidence :) my guess is right.

Yes we have combo adapter BT+WIFI AR3012+AR9485, and there is no solution yet to make this card work on ML or Lion or even SL. Broadcom combo is not a good candidate a think. Any modern combo adapter is not a good candidate to be supported natively in osx. A lot of info about this card - HP AR5B195 WLAN BlueTooth Half Card 592775 593127-001. But it's previous generation card combo, and for now Bluetooth work partially in osx.
I know several wifi cards, that natively can be used in 10.8:
Half-size
Atheros AR5B93
Atheros AR5BHB92
Broadcom BCM94322HM8L
Full-size
Atheros AR5BXB92
Broadcom BCM94322MC
Atheros AR5BXB112

PS: for don't forget - u can use For HP BCM94322HM8L BCM4322 WLAN Wireless WIFI N mini pci-e Card SPS:504664 001 without whitelisting bios

Thanks for that post with such great information. Eventually, I'm looking at buying some kind of 13" ultrabook and wouldn't mind hacking it. Not because I need to, but just for fun. So, picking one where I can replace the wifi card if necessary to something that would work would be a little important (if not, could always go USB). I'm even considering the 13" MacBook Air, but need to play with it a bit in Windows as my fear is that it would make a great Mac, but a crappy Windows PC...

The only worth will be keyboard and (from review) longer boot time even with ssd, compare with ultrabooks like asus sony z. Not all gestures supported in win7 on MBAir. ANd other point is battery life - compared to Lion 6 hours with win it will be 4.5 h maximum. Just vise versa with hackintosh :) on competitors ultras it will be 6 hours I think with windows.
Screen is more IPS's I MBAir too.
I saw ASUS Zenbook UX21 (11,6'') and think it's not so solid as MBAir. The thickness is the same I think. Zenbook is a crappy copy of MBAir - you will see.
Nothing to say else :)

As MacBook Pro Retina Mid 2012 uses Broadcom BCM94331CSAX (main chip BCM4331: 3 x 3 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, up to 450Mbit/s).
What you think about Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and 20702 Bluetooth 4.0 combo & WIFI+Bluetooth Combo Card BCM94313HMGB got main chip BCM4331 as BCM94331CSAX which are also combo and also cheap.

I can't found usable solution for this card, and people tried to put device id's and so on, but no luck. Kexts and drivers loaded, but wifi is not working at all.
Worth to try if any, but 50 / 50 probability.

So what you suggest ?
those 2 or the card from PB 4530s ?

As for me i would prefer workable solution in all OS windows and Osx and Linux if any. As far as i know Ar9285 from 4530s has bluetooth problems. But overall this is workable solution. It can be like you order a new card from Broadcom and bum - it does not recognized at all, kexts loaded, but card don't want to work and there is no solution.

9285 is the previous generation card compare to 9485 but it's verified and commonly used. And for the other side we wanna to get the latest and modern card of course, but it will not be the verified solution and we stuck at this point for a time.

If you can get Macbookpro retina card with less expense than other solution - you can, but it's full-size and you can't in future insert additional WCDMA/HSPA modem. But maybe it's not your point.
