4GB DDR3 1333mhz RAM
Intel HD Graphics 4000
13.3 inch display with 1366x768 resolution
802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0
24GB caching SSD + 500 GB HDD storage built-in (hybrid hard drive)
3x USB 3.0 ports
1x HDMI port
1x Mini-VGA port
Built-in SD, SDHC, MMC card reader
Audio Integrated Stereo Speakers
Integrated Microphone and Webcam
1x 1/8" (3.5mm) Headphone Output

The official site is here: http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Superior_Mobility/ASUS_ZENBOOK_UX32A/

I have experience with hackintoshing but I would just ask because I'm buying this laptop solely for hackintoshing. Anyone Hackintoshed this laptop before or know which components will/won't work? Thanks! :D

From what I know, yes it should run, in fact most systems can run it, but I'm unsure which components do or don't work. For example I have a very old laptop, it ran Lion well, but the wifi, graphics And card reader didn't work. Since in considering buying this ultrabook, it would be good to know which is compatible OOB.

Anybody out there tried and know?

the zenbook is a great laptop, but why would you buy something that looks like a macbook and cost as much as a macbook and then try to make it work like a macbook?

I don't think you guys understand the point of this thread. He's saying why buy a zenbook and hack it to mac, when it costs the same as a macbook and looks the same as a macbook.

Hi there,

There's a reason why I do it, I got an offer for this zenbook that is $550 cheaper than the 13" Air, and also I'm using it for college and they don't allow Macs. Thus I want to dual boot, windows in college, Mountain Lion for home and daily uses other than college. But not sure about compatibility this I posted this thread.

Hope I clarified the situation :)

Also, there's an extra USB 3 port, full size HDMI, which are extremely useful to me but the Air only has thunderbolt which I don't use :p

You can BootCamp (or Parallels, or VMware, or VirtualBox) Windows on an Air a heckuva lot easier and more reliably than you can Hackintosh, generally... (For me, the screen resolution -- 1366x768 -- of the Asus would be a deal breaker; the Air's 1440x900 may not seem like that much more, but it really makes a difference IME. (I have a late-model VAIO with the 1366x768 and it's painful.)

Hello
I have the zenbook UX32DV and I was able to install ML on it. I still have no sound and no wifi BTW and the trackpad is only usuable as a mouse (non scrolling), BTW bluetooth is working...
I installed it on the 24 GB SSD partition formated as MBR and left the hard disk untouched

How was the hard drive originally partitioned? I heard that the original hard drive is a SSD/HDD hybrid? How did you manage to install ML without touching the W7 partition/files?
