Thanks for posting the guide!

It sounds like it's unfeasible to get the stock wifi working?

kalamazoomac,

Odd isn't it Apple uses Intel chip sets but fails to support intel wifi. Apple always did like to make the hardware hard to match or proprietary to defend it if need be. Bluetooth on the other hand they seem to be fine with since it is limited range.

No luck but an oddity... 2nd Hop is Comcast North Dakota where is NSA located? then back to Panama City.

They have reported routers being subject to attack and advised two week wait for fix Thats about a week ago.

Time to wipe router it is my understanding the flaw is not found in dd-wrt.

So I need a little assistance with installing OSX on this laptop (Asus UX305FA-ASM1). I've successfully installed OSX on various computers over the years using Chimera, but I'm having some issues with Clover.

I've followed "[Guide] Booting the OS X installer on LAPTOPS with Clover UEFI" with both the precompiled r3202 and building the latest version of clover myself (I've tried to build r3202 myself but I've been running into some errors). The USB drive I used is formatted as a MBR. I've used a recent config.plist that has been posted on this thread as well as edited versions of those provided by RehabMan's OS-X-Clover-Laptop-Config for both HD5000 and HD5300 (I've only been changing the ig-platform-id to make sure it is "0x16160002" and the theme to whatever I installed with Clover). Additionally I have been primarily doing this with only RehabMan's FakeSMC.kext, GenericUSBXHCI.kext and VoodooPS2Controller.kext in the Other folder.

I can get Clover EFI to start, however when I select the OSX install partition it stops at "root device uuid is 'XXXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX'" (The Xs are real alpanumeric sequence, I just didn't feel like writing it down). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I've liked this laptop very much and would like to get Yosemite running alongside Windows 8.1 and Linux Mint 17.1, which I already have on this machine.

Follow guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...oting-os-x-installer-laptops-clover-uefi.html

There is already a config.plist for Broadwell.

Make sure you set DVMT-prealloc as described in this thread and the various threads linked from the FAQ: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.html

sleepymac11,

I don't wish to jump in on your interaction with RehabMan, but would rather like to ask a question to see if I need to change or emphasis a section. of instructions. Did you add HFSPlus.efi to drivers64UEFI ?

Thanks
jhawk

RehabMan, thanks for your response. Ultimately it came down to that my Yosemite installer was not recent enough for the hardware. I downloaded a new one and that fixed the issue I was having.

jhawk, your guide and your posts in this thread have been very helpful in making this process easier. If there is anything I can think of that will add clarity to the guide, I'll let you know. Nothing at this point. Thanks for all of your work.
