I'm certainly not a Hackintosh expert, but I managed to get 10.8.5 running on an old hard drive with my new PC. Only problem is, I cannot boot into Mac OS X without the USB drive. If I try to just boot from the HDD the Asus UEFI automatically pops up after a short black screen.

Also I cannot get the onboard wifi working. I haven't tried ethernet, but it's too inconvenient for my computers location.

Specs:
Motherboard: Asus Z87-Pro
CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 18866MHz 16GB (2x8GB)
GPU: EVGA GTX 760 ACX
HDD: Old Maxtor 160GB (ripped from my old Powermac G5)

Any help would be hugely appreciated,

Thanks

(P.S. I'm 15, go easy on me)

I suspect it's to do with the Asus Z87 BIOS not being able to boot GPT partitions that don't have UEFI bootloaders in them. If you search around then I believe others have found a workaround using MBR but the better option would probably be to use the Clover bootloader which should overcome the issue with the Asus BIOS and keep your system using full UEFI.

Search Google for "ML on a Asus Z87 Haswell Build" - that should help a bit.

Exactly the same situation than me. If I find something new I will out here :/
