my impression is that in the motherboards where the number of M.2 disks is not increased from Z690, the PCIex 16x slots are now (with Z790) all indipendent, meaning they can work X16/X16 without any speed limitations. While in motherboards' layouts where there are up to 5 M.2 ports it goes from X116->x8/x8 like in Z690... but I'm sure about that yet.From Anandtech
So more Gen 4 PCH lanes compared to Z690 and an additional USB 3.2 Gen 2x2. Only 1 M.2 is supported from the CPU without splitting lanes from the X16 slot. Z790 does have better memory support but idk how much a difference would be with a Z690 with 13th Gen vs Z790 with 13th Gen
I cannot see any advantage in DDr5-5600Mhz as also Z690 chipset can use them in OC mode.
