For OS 12.3, I applied the current fix for my 6900XT in device properties, and I can confirm that metal is definitely working better in 12.3. Window resizing looks accelerated again... but my metal scores are in the 140,000's under 12.3 as compared to 180,000+ under 12.2.1. I'm still seeing the digital glitch in the wallpaper as well. Hopefully we'll get a proper fix from Apple on this. Going to continue to play it safe on 12.2.1 a while longer.;)

If you upload your config.plist I can add it for you

Just make sure you delete you serial number before uploading
Thank you so much for your help Tedy, Kalyso, Casey, you guys rock

Did you encounter graphics glitches and slow window resizing problems in Monterey 12.3 without this change? And after the change, did those problems go away?
I think the issue is with Monterey 12.3, slowdown problem, i.e. geekbench drop by 50%. The problem is abritary of the SMBIOS. If graphics glitches you mean artifact on desktop from HEIC desktop image, yes and the problem didnt go away with change of SMBIOS.

I put in this fix to slowdown problem with Monterey. I'm using RX6800/RX6900XT

I'll try a small guide for OC (for Clover please add someone else) regarding graphics problems under MacOS 12.3. The instructions are based on the instructions and explanations from this and the other thread:

1. Determine your PCI graphics path using Hackintool:
Post #773 from Casey: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...#:~:text=Add bookmark-,#773,-steve20677 said:

2. Load your config.plist into OC and in the OC menu go to Tools -> Advanced Mode -> Text Mode:
(You are also welcome to use another configuration program such as BBEdit or PlistEditPro etc.)

3. Now your config.plist appears in text mode. Now you can add the appropriate property for your graphics card under DeviceProperties. You have to scroll to the appropriate place. Make sure that your determined graphic PCI path is inserted correctly.

4. Now add the appropriate key for your grafic card (=properties injection). You can find the right key in the following thread: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-6800-6900-graphics-cards.319421/post-2312916

5. If you have inserted and saved everything correctly, you will find the appropriate/new entry in the OC DeviceProperties menu.

6. Save your changes and reboot. You may also want to clear the MacOS cache to fix display errors.

I hope it helps. Good luck!

I just updated my implementation based on the discussion in the 12.3 gpu problem thread. For 6900XT I changed from Carswell to Belknap as suggested. I'm now getting better performance under 12.3- 166,000 GB Metal. Interesting that if I leave this active for my boot into 12.2.1, I'm seeing a bump from 180,000 (without device properties) to 190,000 with Belknap. So it seems like there are other issues still under the surface with 12.3 along with the graphic glitch on the desktop. Hopefully, we'll get a patch from Apple.

** Good News **

I have a Radeon RX 6800 XT in my Asus ProArt Z690 which has been running Monterey 12.2.1. After adding four entries for Belknap, I rebooted back into 12.2.1 and then started the in-place update to Monterey 12.3.

After the update, there are:
  • No graphics glitches
  • No window resizing problems
  • Normal GPU compute benchmarks in GeekBench 5
In other words, Monterey 12.3 is running without any issues so far.
