Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Just did a fresh install with Big Sur 11.6.1. The i225-V patch from the latest EFI works now, but still no luck with the Aquantia... I must be missing something really dumb?

Tried resetting NVRAM, cold boot, etc. Port never lights up and no drivers ever load. Attached shots of IOReg, System Report, Hackintool.

Please post the following screenshots:
  • OpenCore Configurator --> ACPI
  • OpenCore Configurator --> Kernel --> Patch

When you used CCC to clone your drive, did you use the "legacy backup assistant"? You can access it by right clicking on the destination. You can then choose the option to create a bootable backup or clone.

No I did not, thank you so much. I will give it a try tonight and let you know

Sorry to bug you but appreciate if you can help. I copied the new installation from my external HD to NVMe, everything transferred properly. But when I boot up to OpenCore boot picker, I don't see Mac HD. Is there anyway I can add it to OC boot menu
Some questions:
  • When you "copied the new installation from my external HD to NVMe" did you use Carbon Copy Cloner (CCC)?
  • If so, did CCC use APFS Replication utility? This is the only way to clone the system and data volumes. Cloning the system volume is mandatory for the drive to boot macOS.
If you don't remember, please try this:
  • Boot macOS from the external HD.
  • Use Disk Utility to erase the internal NVMe SSD:
    • Format: APFS
    • Scheme: GUID Partition Map
  • Then use CCC and follow Bullets 4 and 5 in STEP 11 of Post 1.

Thanks again Casey, I was doing it all wrong. I will let you know what happens

Hi @CaseySJ

have you tried using Apple frame-buffer like Belknap, for your RX 6800XT to improve GPU power management & named it as Radeon Pro W6800X ?

I have the following properties suggestion :

Capture d’écran 2022-02-15 à 17.50.14.png

and for copy/paste :

ATY,Card# = 102-D41711-00
ATY,Copyright = Copyright AMD Inc. All Rights Reserved. 2005-2021
ATY,DeviceName = W6800X
ATY,EFIVersion = 01.01.270
ATY,EFIVersionB = 113-D417A1XL-021
ATY,EFIVersionE = 113-D4171N-436
ATY,EFIVersionROMB = 113-D417A1XL-021
ATY,FamilyName = Radeon Pro
ATY,Rom# = 113-D4171M-270
device_type = ATY,BelknapParent
model = AMD Radeon PRO W6800X
name = ATY,Belknap

All theses data have been extracted from AMD firmware update included on Monterey :)

I am curious to see if Geekbench 5.0 score improve.

Hello @Elias64Fr

I'm afraid this has led to some counter-intuitive results! :)
