Recently, I also build a pc with intel c612. When booting with EL installer, system cannot pass " PCI configuration begin". Tried with npci=0x3000 but no use.

Hey everyone on this thread, I've had great success with converting a Lenovo S20 workstation and now I'm looking into doing something similar with an S30/HP z420/Dell T3600 or even more relevant to this thread, a Lenovo D30/HP z260/Dell T5600. Any thoughts on this? It definitely beats the multi-thousand price tag. From what I see, I could put a dual XEON rig together for wayyyyy under $1000. But the major question is, will it work??? If it could, this would end up being an incredible solution for those of us who could make use of the many cores [intense DAW usage, lots of video and graphics stuff, especially encoding].

Again, any thoughts or opinions would be great!

EDIT: It seems someone [and maybe others] Have successfully done this. Here is the thread for those that may be remotely interested... https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/yosemite-install-guide-on-lenovo-d30-rev-4354.177528/

Hi php75,
Can I please get the config.plist and kext too? I have a X10DAL-I and could not even boot to see installation screen but i think it can help me.

Hi, I would be very interested too. I have my z10pe d8 working fine with xcpm with one 2699v4 but I havent been able to get anything working with dual cpus even by limiting cores and turning off HT. Bios settings would be cool too.

I managed to get my dual Xeon work on Z10PE. Full journey with details in that thread. Martin is of great help. BIOS settings also in there.

hi there, im trying for some time to get it work also and your node hepls me a lot so thank you for that.
the config is the same as yours Asus Z10PE-D8 WS - 2x XEON 2680v3 - EVGA GTX980Ti - Clover - El Capitan 10.11.1
my boot frags are: -v nv_disable=1 kext-dev-mode=1 npci=0x2000 -xcpm_ipi

i need to stay on 10.11.1 because of software version i need to use and the compatibility with the system.

the thing what i find out after hours of testing is that when i disable nvida web drivers with nv_disable=1 the sysytem has no lags at all. so i was searching around and find this:
https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/...-instruction-gt-causes-huge-latency-spikes-/1

and this http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-rt-users/msg10893.html

It turns out that nvidia uses wbinvdt()
<An intel instruction> that through it's operations, in a nutshell,
ends up halting all cpus - which is the source of nearly all pain when
using nvidia-rt.

i do not know much about it, just give me sence logically. in the link up there are some links for linux patches, os is there a way to recode them into unix language?
