I cant get to the Mac Installer.
I made my Unibeast bootable USB key, I added the VoodooTSCSync.kext.
I patched the key with the 2 commands:
Code:
sudo perl -pi -e 's|\x74\x11\x83\xF8\x3C|\x74\x11\x83\xF8\x3F|g' /Volumes/USB/mach_kernel

Code:
sudo perl -pi -e 's|\xEB\x0A\x83\xF8\x3A|\xEB\x0A\x83\xF8\x3F|g' /Volumes/USB/mach_kernel

Now I am stuck at booting from the USB key. I can't reach the Mac installer. I always get a black screen like you used to get. Even after typing -v, I get lines of text and the screen goes black. The last line of the verbose boot says "PCI configuration begin" then black screen.

Hello, me too i have: Asus x99 deluxe + 5960x + 32go G-skill + 780 ti

I made my Unibeast bootable USB key, I added the VoodooTSCSync.kext. - OK
I patched the key with the 2 commands… - OK
I install Mavericks (GUID partition) - OK
Reboot Unibeast Key (Usb2 not 3) and i select Mavericks...
but, Black screen after typing -v , or grey screen with logo apple after typing ncpi=0x2000 cpus=1 nv_disable=1

Thanks,
sorry for my english, i'm french :)

Edit: It's OK, i forget >> org.chameleon.boot.plist :
<key>Kernel</key>
<string>mach_kernel</string>

I've got:

Asus X99-S
Intel 5960x
Gigabyte 980GTX

Booting the USB with Unibeast on got me stuck on PCI CONFIGURATION BEGIN.

So I used another computer to install Yosemite and Nvidia Web Drivers.

Still get stuck on PCI CONFIGURATION BEGIN when booting this completed install...

The install is fine. I can boot it on a Gigabyte z68 with GTX 670. But not in my Haswell-E build.

I've tried resetting bios, using with/without the Voodoo patch kext for 8core, npci=0x2000, nvda_drv=1, etc...

Always PCI CONFIGURATION BEGIN.

Any ideas?

I am in the same boat with 5960x and x-99 deluxe

I am in the same boat with 5960x and x-99 deluxe
any news for you guys?

I'm always at pci config

same rig as yours (780ti and 5960)

so no news here?

For the 5960x you have to use AppleACPIPlatform and IOPCIFamily from 10.9.5, otherwise you will alway get stuck at pci configuration begin.

I'm using the exact same board and I can say I have a working Hackintosh. Bob Roche's YOUTUBE channel was very good at explaining some of the details of making the X99 work on Yosemite.

http://youtu.be/cx_RD7CduDM

This is a very complex build - and if you miss a step you'll get stuck. It took me many hours to get it just right.

Care to share with us exactly what you did to get everything working?

Hello Samtimbaud (or anyone with a similar build),

Man tried PM'n you but I don't have enough posts to do so.

I've been following yours and others posts about getting X99 up and running
since its release and would like to ask you a few questions on your install.

I have a similar build as you, have successfully installed Mavericks but I can
not even get to the install page for Yosemite.

Its driving me mad, I have done a lot of installs before on different machines and
this is the first time I have had no luck getting into the installer.

How did you make your Yosemite installer (Unibeast or Clover method?)
What are your Bios settings or what gave you trouble with your install?
What KEXTS(or Versions of the KeXTS) did you use to install?
What Boot args did you use?
Did you need to remove any parts from the machine before the install?
Did you use a USB2 stick or USB3 stick?

Sorry I know maybe its better to list my trouble shooting, but there's so many combos I have
followed and tried it, the list would be to long.

I am using the VoodoTSCSync[Set to 15 for the 8-core mod]
Tried a variety of boot arguments ie:
1. npci=0x2000
2. -v -f npci=0x2000 slide=1
3. -v -f npci=0x2000 kext-dev-mode=1
4. -v -f npci=0x2000 kext-dev-mode=1 slide=1
5. & more.....

In verbose mode, no matter what I receive a hang on PCI CONFIGURATION.
Even with the system at bare minimum.

USB3 Installer(Uniboot or Clover) in USB2 plug on back.
One GPU PCI Slot 1
One HDD 1TB Crucial M550 SSD

Any help or further guidance would be appreciated. It's probably something so small.
I feel like such an idiot. I have followed tonymacs guides to the t. Tried Rampages
x99 guides but no Yosemite installs.

Like I said Mavericks was no problem, uniboot installer worked with npci=0x2000
all hardware connected default Bios with CSM disabled/ Legacy

But Yosemite, nothing man.

Either-way I hope read,
and thank you for your time

I just build a new hackingtosh with Asus x99 deluxe, 5960x, 16G memory, and gtx560.
Everything is ok well and stable.
to install Yosemite, i use Unibeat with -x -f -v npci=0x3000 nv_disable=1 ... everything went well.
then bluetooth, 5Mgz wireless airport, hdmi sound from gtx card ... all work.
i hope it is helpful
