Upon restarting the password i set does not work. I am told it is incorrect (i am 100% typing it correctly)
Maybe you typed it wrong the first time during setup. It can happen that the keyboard layout varies from setup to working system.

Try inserting the same password with different typos.

Also check that your keyboard is set properly for your language.

Hi every one.

Today I successfully updated my hackintosh to OpenCore 0.6.6.

My EFI folder works perfectly fine with Catalina and also with Big Sur.

Please note that my Mother board is an Asus X99-A (no X99A-ii, deluxe, WS, etc) And my CPU is an Intel I7 5820k.

Hi,
I am very new in Hackintosh and Opencore.
Thank you Seevolas for posting the EFI.
I have Asus X99-A/USB3.1 with i7 5820K
I have 16GB of memory and try to install Catalina on a 500GB Samsung EVO 860 SSD
video card - Quadro K600

I did the ASUS BIOS Firmware Patching, then updated the BIOS settings
I created the USB, copied Seevolas' Opencore 0.6.6 folders to the EFI partition.
updated the smbios information on the config.plist file

The computer booted from the USB, but then stuck at:
*In Memory Panic Stockshot Succeeded*

Can you suggest how to resolve this issue?
Thank you.

I tried the Opencore 0.6.4 version Seevolas uploaded and got the same error.

Hi again.

Please try this 2 EFI folders.
They are as clean possible.
The difference between them is that V2 has Flash Write enabled.
If none of them work for you, please dump your DSDT and post it here.
It could be that your motherboard version needs some SSDT edits.

Good luck

Hello Seevolas,
Thanks for putting the EFI together. Unfortunately, they stuck at the same place.
I used acpidump to dump the DSDT file. Please see attached.
Thank you for your help.

Hi again,
I did some edits to your SSDT-RTC0-RANGE.aml

RTC name is RTC
LowPinCount path is LPC0
PCI path is PCI1

This is the V1 EFI with Write Flash set to false. If it fails try enabling it.

Hope this helps.

Please also check your BIOS settings.

Disable

  • Fast Boot
  • Secure Boot
  • Serial/COM Port
  • Parallel Port
  • CSM

#Enable

  • Above 4G decoding
  • Hyper-Threading
  • Execute Disable Bit
  • EHCI/XHCI Hand-off
  • SATA Mode: AHCI

Thank you, Seevolas! Finally had Catalina installed on my x99.
I could boot into the system now. It locked up and rebooted a couple of times. Was this related to the power management settings? Besides copying the EFI folders to the hard drive, what post installation steps did you performed on your x99?

Thanks again for your big help!

Hi.
Post install can vary a lot from one system to other.

My first step will be to map usb ports.

checking if you actually have an unlocked Msrs. You can use the check tool on picker.

Double check the dortania opencore guide looking for little things you may have missed.
