ASUS X299 Monterey/Ventura Support

Updated to the latest AppleALC version 1.6.9 and all worked now. Thank you for everything!!!
Just got back from vacations, and just saw your posts. I'm glad you got it working.

Finally I installed monterey with this efi (0.7.6). Little problem with bluetooth I solved with BlueToolFixup.kext.

Hello sashamed, I used your EFI and can run Monterey, but I have no LAN network. I have also put in the old smalltree intel 211 Gbe kext and adjusted config.plist but still no connection. Was working well with Big Sur. Not sure what the problem is.

I tried the base EFI but that has no LAN and no USB. Yours is 99% up except networking. I don't use wifi or BT.

Any tips is greatly appreciated. :)

Did you use the latest kexts from this guide?

It looks like the SmallTree kext for the i211 doesn't work anymore but the 219 Ethernet port should. Refer to github issue here. Also usb mapping needs to be done prior since XhciPortLimit doesn’t work in Monterey. You can download an older version of Big Sur to map.

EDIT: Updated my github with usb map disclaimer and limited the SmallTree kext to Big Sur

Thank you! And I tried i219v2 port, it now works! Using sashamed EFI and with LAN using i219 port, everything seems to be working well.

A little note: Your base EFI works with initial install but not sashamed's EFI. After the first login where region, language, etc are done, sashamed EFI works well but not yours (no USB and no audio). Funny thing is my TUF1 board needs the CSM to be enabled, contrary to your BIOS settings. My BIOS is 3105.

Thanks again for the great help! :headbang:

Now that I've gotten Monterey running, a strange thing happened.

My Crucial MX500 2TB drive is not working. I click open the drive and it immediately get dismounted. Another Seagate spin disk 8TB works perfectly fine. Both are internal SATA drives. I use Disk Utility and it shows the Crucial dismounted. I mount it again but it is not shown on desktop at all, but DU says it is mounted, yet it is no where to be found.

I have dual boot, and in win10 pro, both drives work beautifully no issues whatsoever. So not a connection problem. Both drives are NTFS formatted.

What could possibly be the problem?

Audio should work but USB won't work without mapping as stated so you'll need to do that yourself. You may want to try updating to the latest OC release to fix the audio but I don't use Hackintosh anymore so can't test. Sashamed's EFI was based on my BASE but an older version but surprised USB is working since he had the USB map disabled.

My pc will wake up sometime. How to fix it? Thanks.

I find it strange too why Sashamed EFI works but not boot for installation. And yours boot for installation but not actual final use in the nvme drive. Might be due to OC7.6 vs 7.7 difference, who knows? I look at his kexts, there seemed to be a few redundant stuffs but I can't tell what is it.

Anyway, the Crucial SATA ssd problem. Any tips what I should look into? The X299SATA kext? I have switched SATA port and also different cable, still no go.

Thanks for your help djlild :)

Hey as long as it works lol. Could also be something missing from my EFI but not sure. its harder to debug without a hack and I could’ve missed something.

Im not entirely sure on the ssd thing but it may be a missing efi driver or something. X299Sata should already be enabled though but don’t think it’s required.

Above 4G Encoding is important to have and I know you mentioned you had to enable CSM so wonder if there's a conflict there.

You can check the Dortania guide here for SATA issues
