Hey all,
I'm new to building and could use a hardware recommendation. I'm looking to build a workstation system and am wondering if anyone has had any success with the Xeon W CPUs on the ASUS WS C422 PRO motherboards. I know the iMac Pros run off of Xeon W so I'm hoping there's compatibility. If that doesn't work, I've heard of a few successes with the Core i9 and the X299 Deluxe boards, but would like to hear more opinions on that as well before considering. The only reason I would go Xeon over i9 is ECC memory for extra workstation safety. The extra PCIe lanes would also be nice, but not essential.
Also, do you think I'll be able to run a VROC bootable RAID from either of these systems with MacOS?
Thanks!
