Hi guys, this will be off topic but I need your help. I have the same laptop (quite same h/w) and installed Sierra (not the high one), can you tell me how did you fixed sleep/wake issue, sound, disabling nvidia and screen glitch on boot, before high sierra?

The list of issues I have here in this post, trying hard to fix all but I'm not a coder and it's a bit hard for me.

Thanks.

For sleep/wake i needed to disable my touchscreen using USBInjectAll.kext and a custom SSDT, Audio i use AppleALC.kext \ Lilu.kext and the appropriate layout id in DSDT, to disable the Nvidia card you need to do that in your DSDT which you can extract with Clover at the boot screen and press F4 which will dump the native files into EFI\CLOVER\ACPI\origin. The boot screen glitch can be lessened \ removed by using IntelGraphicsFixup.kext.
Most of these issues have guides available on this site.

You can try following my guide here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-macos-on-the-asus-tp500la-broadwell-edition.212252/

It's not quite up to date, but that's because this site is extremely slow for me when logged in to my account.

For the Nvidia GPU, you can follow Rehabmans guide to disable it. His method works, I tried it on my brothers TP550LA, which is slightly different to mine (older cpu and nvidia gpu).

Thank you for the guide. For the slow connection maybe you can try Opera browser's VPN feature to reach it. It's worth give it a shot.

I know the guide by Rehabman for disabling Nvidia but it's too complicated. It has a lot of patches and it's not clear which patches should I use for my TP500L instance. There are over 20 patches in the guide. Which patches to which SSDTs are the question.

You have 9 patches for DSDT on your guide, however, following posts complained that they lost ethernet, sata, audio, touchpad etc. Should we really need to apply all those 9 patches?

Apply one appropriate patch at a time and test?

I followed the guide to disable Nvidia GPU without issues or loss of anything.

After disabling NVIDIA GPU, is the sleep functionality working for you?

If yes, what patches have you applied?
What is your laptop configuration?

For sleep you need power management. SSDT.aml

In my case disabling Nvidia haven't fixed my sleep issue. I have full power management, I first used SSDT.aml then switched to Rehabman's method, without running script etc, you just put SSDT-PluginType1.aml to patched folder.
