ASUS ROG STRIX RX VEGA 64

Hi Guys, I have an x99 and ASUS Vega 64 STRIX, I have issues with sleep wake and also random crashes when scrubbing through videos in Final Cut and Premier. Does anyone have these sorts of issues? If not do you have a config I can look at to see where mine is different.

Yes I am having issues with the Asus Rog Strix 64 on Mojave (10.4.?). Everything works flawlessly until I start a 3D intensive process (like game or game engine). HWSensor shows GPU but Hackintool not. I can give you additional details from my clover later so we can figgure out what we are doing wrong. Did you setup the SMBIOS to what is menitoned above (iMac Pro 1.1) ? This is something I will try later as I have a different setting there.
 
I use iMacpro 1.1 smbios and only rarely crashes. But enough for me to want to fix if possible.

Hey there. I have same Vega card (Rog Strix) and I am also experiencing problems with it. Everything runs smooth until I try to run a 3D game or processes in Unity need GPU instantiation... That's when it crashes and the screen freezes. Music continues so processes unrelated to GPU seem to be intact. Didn't try the tip above to set SMBIOS to iMacPro1.1 but it might be the one I have. Other than that I have found little clues toward resolving this issue except that this particular card has its own VBIOS which cannot be accessed and it needs to be flashed but there is no ROM for that from the vendor. I am kinda lost and my mind ponders all sorts of issues. :) Is there anyone with a working Rog Strix Vega 64 build that can post their clover ini? Make sure you test out 3D games or graphics applications before assuming things are ok

When do you experience these crashes? How do they manifest? Anything like what I described above?
 
My Strix hasn't really crashed at all however it does have a problem where on random boots it just heats up like no tomorrow. Also when doing intensive GPU stuff, the fans spin up a lot and don't spin back down. Other then that it edits like my old 1080. I should have picked up a sapphire lol
 
I'm having the same problems with the same card.
Constant gpu restart especially while playing games.
 
Reports from other forums indicate, that the problems discribed above where adressed by Apple in the latest 10.14.5 beta and significant improvements regarding performance and stability of VEGA cards were achieved. You should wait until the final release of the 10.14.5 version of Mojave.

Nothing is improved.

don't know if you're still wondering but I can confirm that I am running the Asus ROG Strix RX Vega 64 since yesterday. I made a clean install to Mojave (10.14.2) and it worked OOB, however I do have the coil whine issue and try to figure out how to get rid of it … have yet to check whether it's only occuring under macOS or also in Windows. … That would be my biggest issue so far. The rest seems to work just fine.

Edit: Coil whine Issue is gone after I updated SMBIOS to iMacPro1,1 with Clover Configurator … In Windows there was no issue.

Hi guys, curious if people are still experiencing issues on the Rog Strix Vega 64 ? I finally found a decent deal in my area for a vega 64, but sadly this one is the only model I could find. Will it work without issues on 10.14.5 ? (putting up the shopping list for my first hackintosh build as we speak!)
 
I have no issues with 14.5 and strix card apart from occasional issues with wake from sleep
