Recently added a PCIe firewire card (SYBA SY-PEX30016) to my build as my motherboard didn't have one, and I plug in my audio interface through firewire to get my speakers working.

It all works beautifully, but when my computer goes to sleep and wakes up, the speakers stop working. When I shut down the computer, the speakers make a strange booming crunch of a noise.

Upon restart, they work again. Seems as though the firewire card isn't 'waking up' after sleep.

Edit: upon further investigation it seems that I may need to patch my PCIe kext with PNPID of my Firewire PCIe device? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Hockeycrush,

Did you get sorted ? I am investigating to install a firewire card on my Asus Z370e and want to make the right choice and check the possible issues. Did you fix your problem and if so how did you do ?

Thanks !
