I'm having a real hard time getting sound to work on this machine.
This is a new install "High Sierra," brand new hardware.

Here is what I did so far -
  1. Downloaded: SSDT-HDEF+-1.aml, and audio_cloverALC-130_v0.3.command
  2. installed SSDT-HDEF+-1.aml in "EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched"
  3. Run audio_cloverALC-130_v0.3.command
The command ran fine, but after a reboot, still no devices.

...So I follow the steps below to remove it -
  1. cloverALC, remove:
  2. Install native AppleHDA.kext with a kext installer (KextBeast) <- I pulled this kext from my working Macbook Pro 2016 Touch Bar, and installed it)
    1. or S/L/E/AppleHDA.kext/Contents/Resources/layout1.zml.zlib, layout2.zml.zlib, layout3.zml.zlib, Platforms.zml.zlib
  3. config.plist/.../KextsToPatch/AppleHDA (3x)
  4. EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.xx or other/realtekALC.kext

I wanted try "SSDT-HDEF-3.aml," but still I'm getting this output from the command:

Code:
"File: audio_cloverALC-130.command_v0.3
Release Mode
Password:
EFI partition is mounted
cp: /tmp/config.txt: No such file or directory
/Users/admin/Downloads/audio_cloverALC-130_v0.3.command: line 386: /tmp/gsid.txt: No such file or directory
cat: /tmp/gsid.txt: No such file or directory
rm: /tmp/gsid.txt: No such file or directory
System Integrity Protection status: disabled.

NOK to patch
Add config.plist/RtVariables/CsrActiveConfig=0x3 and restart
No system files were changed

Like I said above the first time from a clean install, the command run, however no devices on a reboot. Now that I followed the steps to remove it, I'm still unable to re-run the command.

I downloaded the correct *.aml
I went over the removal steps again, pulling AppleHDA.kext from the installer using Pacifist, and installing it using Kext Utility.
Running audio_cloverALC-130_v0.3.command, I still get the output from my first post.

Thank you for your help. I guess I'm stuck, I'm trying to avoid a complete reinstall...

I was able to get audio to work using the *.aml file you suggested, and the Lilu Audio file - however now I noticed my Preview Icons are not working. Everything looks generic, so I may end up doing another reinstall. I'm guessing if I prevent the installer from converting the file system to the new Apple file system, it should fix it. Just a guess... anyway I'm sure the command file will work after a format and a reinstall...

Not an audio problem.
No, I understand. I guess what I’m was trying to say is - after a reinstall, I’m sure your script will work, so I will try it then.
