I found a build on another forum for this motherboard. Scores were 2000/15000. There is a full write up, with all the OpenCore config settings. Not sure if it is ok to post the link.

Here is the YouTube video of the benchmark.

New motherboard and setup? How exciting! Yes sure by all means!

Great job reviewing your ASUS Z690-P build!

Right now am looking at the mATX version of this board - at least I think it's fairly similar - according to this comparison:

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/comp...A/BHitems/1670562-REG_1666744-REG_1668940-REG

Obvious differences would be the Ethernet adapter - 1GB not 2.5GB, maybe display specs, etc.

Few questions:

1. Is your EFI Folder based on the Comet Lake profile or something custom?
2. Does your Z690 build boot OK with later versions of OC, say - 0.8.2, 0.8.3?
3. Have you looked at running macOS 13 Ventura public beta on this build?

Appreciate any thoughts.

TIA

Hi NZRichard,

Okay to answer to questions:

1) Yes. This was based on my own custom EFI build back in November 2021. I was the second person back then who working with CaseySJ’s advice had officially gotten the Z690 Alder Lake chipset to work (before OpenCore team ever mentioned support for it).

2) It should do.

3) No I haven’t yet tried.

Seems as if the new 1620 Firmware update on the Asus Z690 has knocked the settings off of the BIOS and is not working/booting with OpenCore Monterey. Window 11 auto updated my mb firmware, and now I'm locked out of macOS. Back to the drawing board, any suggestions. It seems as some options in bios have changed as well?

There was a similar issue on the Gigabyte Z690 boards w/ the new firmware.

Try enabling SetupVirtupMap in your OC config. That may resolve it. It fixed the problem with the new Gigabyte BIOS.

Just tried and it didn't work, any other ideas, I attached the part of the boot where it gets caught

@joshuame149, it's great that you've set this page up.

For anyone who is interested, I have attached the EFI for my build of this board using OC 0.7.4 and external AMD dGPU (just add your own UUID and board system serial and ROM serials). For BIOS settings:

Firmware version: 0407 or later

Main > XMP Profile 1 > Enabled
Advanced > Software Guard Xtentions (SGX) > Disabled
Advanced > Active Cores > All
Advanced > Hyperthreading > Enabled
Advanced settings > System Agent > Graphics Configuration > Primary Display > PCIe
Advanced > System Agent Configuration > VT-d > Disabled (may need to be enabled for Windows)
Above 4G Decoding > Enabled
Re-sizeable bar > Enabled
Graphics Configuration > DVMT Pre-allocated > 1024M
USB Configuration > Legacy USB > Enabled
XHCI-Handoff > Enabled
Boot > CSM > Launch CSM > Disabled
Secure Boot > OS Type > Other OS
Boot Configuration > Fast Boot > Disabled
CFG Lock > Disable
Power Management > PEG ASPM > Enabled
PCH ASPM > Disabled
DMI ASPM > Enabled
S3 > Enabled
ErP > Disabled
PTT > Enabled

It is recommended to boot from either the M.2 sockets, SATA or USB using the F8 key.
Hey, Middleman, what BIOS firmware on Z690 are you currently running?

Still on 0407 at the moment.
Tried to download earlier and didn't work will try again shortly. I thought I had 0407 as well but it seems I went up 8 versions to 1620. Do you think it's possible to go back 8 versions?
