My P7P55D is on 10.7.4 and it sleeps fine without a DSDT.

I noticed you have a P7P55D which uses BIOS 2003. I have a P7P55-E PRO which uses BIOS 1602. My build works perfectly in every detail except sleep. With DSDT, without DSDT with sleep enabler.kext, with please sleep. nothing works.

You should maybe look at your system and kernel logs to see if there are any message related to something preventing your system from sleeping.
