:roll2:Hi Guys

After successfully running a hackintosh full time for 8 months I have decided to try hackintosh my Asus K55VJ Laptop. I am getting hung up on graphics though, It has a Nvidia GeForce 635M GPU which I've disabled in device manager, I get a black screen after the graphics load unless a HDMI cable is plugged into a external monitor. I have even deleted all NVIDIA Kext's and added Intel HD4000 ones, I have also changed the SMBIOS to a Mac Mini to match the GPU's. What is the best way to disable the NVIDIA GPU (which wouldn't need doing if it ran the laptops display) or what is another way around this?

Any help would be extremely appreciated

Cheers

Is 'device manager' something in your BIOS?

No need to add HD4000 kexts... They are included by default. Restore HD4000 kexts to vanilla.

Nvidia can be disabled via SSDT/DSDT edits, but is not necessary except for power savings...

System: manufacturer/model
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx). For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Hahaha No, in Windows! It sorta worked because all I'd get if I disabled the HD4000 ones was a black screen in post. How would I do it in the BIOS, I can't see anything allowing me to do so o_O

Ok I'll remove them, I was trying anything.

What you do in Windows will not affect OS X.

Missing screen resolution.

Remove nvidia kexts (NVDA*, Geforce*).

Boot with flags:
IGPlatformID=01660003 dart=0 -v

Hey Dude,

I've install Mavericks but I'm stuck at *** [IOBluetoothHCIController][SearchForTransporterEventTimeOutHandlet] -- Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport!!

If I remember correctly Graphics comes next?

Cheers

See post #6. Post photo if the flags are not working.
