Hello guys,
First of all, I am totally new to this so please consider me like that.
I have a laptop and specs are:
ASUS FX553VD-DM483
Display : 1920x1080 FHD
CPU : Intel i7-7700HQ Quad Core 2.8 GHz
GPU : Intel HD 630 + Nvidia 1050 2 GB (Optimus)
Hard Drive : Inbuilt 1 TB Hard Drive
SSD : WD Blue 500 GB M.2 SSD (Didn't came with laptop, I added it later)
PS2 Keyboard and I2C Elan1200 Precision Touchpad
After Reading RehabMan's guide from creating bootable usb installer to post installation of OSx on laptops, I tried the manual way but ended up taking much time in loading. So I tried UniBeast and it went very well. I installed MacOS Mojave in my laptop. Currently I have successfully able to install total of 4 Operating Systems in my laptop (Windows, 2 Linux Distros and MacOS Mojave). I am able to boot into all of those successfully and those 3 OS are working like a charm.
I used MultiBeast for post installation as its the easiest (later I came to know its easiest but not good) method to do it. I installed kexts and drivers through Multibeast and now I have following things working:
1) Keyboard
2) Audio with Fn Audio keys working
3) Bluetooth (Its not turning off, IDK why)
4) Ethernet
5) HDMI output (only 1920x1080)
Not working:
1) Touchpad : I tried everything, read RehabMan's guide, tried VoodooI2c kext and DSDT/SSDTs patches. Have some questions.
2) Wifi (I read in various posts that this model has Intel AC 7265 Wireless card, which does not have support yet)
3) Screen Brightness Control (Tried few posts including this guide)
4) HDMI output to 21:9 2560x1080 display (I am getting 1920x1080 stretched to 2560x1080, tried SwitchResX, still no luck)
5) Battery Indicator
6) Laggy after opening several apps, Launchpad extremely lagging
7) Its showing graphics only 7 MB?? I have set DMVT Pre-Alloc to 64MB.
because of using Multibeast my product is showing as iMac with 27inch 4k screen. Pic attached:
I don't know if this is the reason of not getting brightness control, but just attached for reference.
Almost of my work I do by connecting laptop to 21:9 2560:1080 LG ultra wide monitor. But I am not getting any option to change the resolution after connecting. I also changed the resolution in clover, didn't helped. .
so my questions are (according to priority):
0) Is there any way to know your hardware perfectly? any tool? I tried Device manager in Windows. I am relying on other's post regarding same laptop to know the hardware. Still confused about Wifi card and touchpad.
1) Regarding touchpad. Can anyone guide me to make it work with Mojave? What patches to perform and little how to do it. (I have already read the guide for patching DSDT/SSDT by RehabMan)
2) Wifi - Is there any new driver/kext available now to make it work?
3) Brightness - I tried this guide, didn't help.
4) Battery Indicator - Sorry but I didn't try anything for this yet. Busy in fixing above things. If you have any suggestions for this, they are welcome.
5) LAGG - Still its not looking as a stable build. When I open chrome, the whole OS starts lagging and delay in every operation. Also if I open much apps it starts lagging.
6) Now I have 4 OS running successfully. If I want to reinstall macOS (just in case by manual method), will I need to totally reinstall clover or what? Confused about this thing.
Any help to any question is really appreciated. If this macOS becomes stable, I can share my experience of installing such multiple OS, so that others can do it too.
