Been fiddling with this build for several hours. All that's left for it to work is HDMI Audio. I installed the Realtek 892 kext, since this is the audio driver the mobo runs. However, there was no HDMI audio option. I also tested the excellent HDMI audio guide on the forums. Yet, I can't find the required parts of the DSDT.aml file to edit. Is this even possible with this board? Its a Z68M-ITX+i5 2500K using HD3000 graphics.

Here's the build:

Thanks!

Use this guide to prepare your dsdt for OS X http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=35559. As a minimum, you need Method DTGP and Device HDEF. The guide you cited describes how and where to make additional HDMI audio edits once you have the OS X compatible dsdt.

There's no patch for the Z68M-ITX...darn.

I don't think the DSDT has the HDEF sound section. Is there any way to add it and for it to work?

Look here http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?p=307976#p307976

So I should use this DSDT.aml for my own build then and continue the guide?

In the guide, one of the requirements is AppleHDA_v2.1.x installed in System/Library/Extensions. I have an AppleHDA kext but there is no v2.1.x on the name.

I tried this guide:

https://tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... 46&start=0

Yet, I can't get the layout id edit to stick.

I run KextBeast with AppleHDA.kext on desktop. Then I open the dsdt.aml you linked me to. I edit the layout id for HDMI on HD3000 to what you stipulate. I install the DSDT on my hard drive. When I restart, I open the DSDT (compile it) and the layout id is back to what it was before edit. I have all options on my Sound preferences, all but hDMI.

Surely, I'm doing something wrong.

You are doing something wrong. You did not say how your tried to "install" the edited dsdt. What technique are you using, DSDTSE, Multibeast, Finder? Regarding the version of AppleHDA.kext, select the kext in Finder/Get Info.

A reminder, don't post the same question in more than one thread.

Sorry I didn't know where to post. I'm also desperate.

I opened the dsdt on dsdt editor.
