@oli.mathieu all right, you're back with the X299 Creator !
I encountered this problem too :
There are too many ports as you saw :
On Rear Panel I/O only :
- 2 x USB 2.0 Ports
- 2 x (1+1) x USB 3.2 Gen1 Ports (2 ports each divided into two)
- 2 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Thunderbolt Type-C Ports
All other ports are internal :
- 2 x USB 2.0 Headers (Support 4 USB 2.0 ports)
- 1 x USB 3.2 Gen1 Header
- 1 x Front Panel Type C (ASMedia ASM3142)

I tested all USB-A Port, none of them work !!!
I've Just tested the USB-C (thunderbolt) port none work
Very strange

A suitable USB kext can therefore solve the problem
I ran out of time to do it

Yes some ports are working but I notice some troublesome ejection during current use of the build

How an SMBIOS influence the USB ports?
may be it has something to do with the SSDT-XHCI or SSDT-XHC ?


Still :

Something bother me, some/all DSDT active patches seem to be ignored.
PC00 ➧ PCI0 & LPC0 ➧ LPCB for example.
Ioreg show clearly PC00 and LPC0 even with those two Patches enable.

Yes with iMacPro SMBIOS it works better : that means we need to define MacPro 7.1 in the info.plist properties of USB.kext

Why with X299X Designare 10G USB works without specific USB.kext and with both SMBIOS MacPro ans iMacPro ?

files from post #108 are from the MacPRO 7.1 SMBIOS. Do you need anything else ?

Let's try this kext:
See if it matches, I added :
- both properties for iMacPro 1,1 and MacPro 7,1
- IOPCIPrimaryMatch 0xa12f8086 0xa2af8086 0xa1af8086
We will add the right port count and properties for each after
