Asrock P67 Extreme 4 Mavericks Guide

Installing Mavericks was a breeze!

Modded Bios 3.10 http://bios.zmac.net/asrock/Asrock-P67-Extreme4-310_modified.zip

A. No Need for AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement or NullCPUPowerManagement.kext

DSDT: http://www.osx86.net/files/file/602-dsdt-asrock-p67-extreme4-bios-v-3-10/

This is a Basic Guide to help anyone get started and or overcome the fear of upgrading.

#1 Place modded bios on a usb flash drive, restart computer and hit F6 (Instant Flash)

#2 Load Fail Safe Defaults, Set Sata mode to AHCI, only C1E state on the rest off

A. If you plan to OC make sure you set the turbo/multiplier per core; so 42 for cores 1-4 would give you 4.2 the auto will not work. If you want to go higher will you need to create and or find an SSDT

#3 Create Unibeast disk following TonyMacx86's instructions

#4 Restart computer F11, Chose your thumb drive to boot first and or go into bios and set your thumb drive boot priority to #1

#5 Boot with the following: -v PCIRooutUID=0 GraphicsEnabler=Yes

#6 Install then restart, choosing your thumb drive as the first boot priority, You will need to enter the commands: -v PCIRootUID=0 GraphicsEnabler=Yes again

#7 OSX will then load, go to tonymacx86.com and download multi beast

#8 Run Multibeast with the settings that I have posted

#9 Copy DSDT, and SSDT from osx86 to Extras. I created my own SSDT awhile back, but this one should work!

#10 download Chameleon Wizard
http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=140

create SMBios (the closest to your actual cpu), and the following for org.chameleon.bootlist (found in the image)

#11 Restart Computer and all should be good :)

**Note** IMessage is not working currently. I am sure if you search through the forum you will find a fix. Since I don't use IMessage the fix isn't need for me :)

1/2/2014 - iMessages is working downloaded the latest Chameleon Bootloader from insanelymac with the new filenvram 1.3

Installing Yosemite was a breeze as usual; decided to wait until apple did a few critical updates, and chameleon/chimera to catch up

** If you are starting here you need to flash your bios; see above original Mavericks Post

DSDT Free this time
- Make Sure KernelCache=Off

Without this setting my IOGEAR 521 bluetooth would not work

Please see images; hopefully this may help someone one day :)

Updates:

6/9/2015:

Purchased: PCI-E 1X Wifi 2.4GHz 5GHz WLAN+Bluetooth 4.0 receiver adapter with Apple Broadcom BCM94331CD

Plug and Play!!, So much better then messing with the IOGear, now I can use my apple keyboard to enter bios, and on the tonymacx86 disk selection :)))) Drivers for Winx64 were easy to find via bootcamp

No more juggling extra keyboards/mice...

Is your mobo the p67 extreme4 gen3? Or is yours slightly different because I can't get your patch to work.

Edit: nvm I've looked it up and these are 2 different boards and your bios is a different version then mine.

Finally installed Sierra, this was by far the easiest install ever :headbang:
  • I usually wait @least until the 2nd or 3rd update so I don't have to deal with any potential issues that others have initially

#1 Installed per UniBeast w/ Legacy Boot Mode . although I think EFI may have worked . this new card is efi capable and the motherboard (albeit the original efi)

#2 Replaced aging GTX 260 with a natively supported GT 740 I picked up on EBAY /
  • I read on the forums that some people were having issues with the GTX 260, so I decided to get rid of the power hungry old beast
#3 Ran Multibeast *see Image*

#4 Easiest install ever / I hope these posts are helping someone out there :)

#5 Added more ram to 8GB; 4GB wasn't up to the task with Sierra
