there is not a single kext in your EFI folder. no wonder it does not work. You need at least FakeSMC.kext or VirtualSMC.kext and preferrably lilu.kext and whatevergreen.kext as well + boot parameter kext-dev-mode=1

Ah I know what happened....downgrading Clover to 4961 removed the kext folder content...

So placed back those kexts.....but after a while screen goes blank and CPU goes into sleep mode....only power cycle brings it back...

With the originally created installer stick clover just hangs forever at "scan entries", regardless if using VBoxHfs.efi or HfsPlus.efi...

Also with clover updated to 5103....either with VBoxHfs.efi or HfsPlus.efi.....hangs forever...and no other drives are connected except the SSD....

Seems I can't use RX 5700 XT as main screen at all for installation...

When I use onboard HDMI the installation goes through....but when it comes to booting Catalina the console is stuck at IOConsoleUsers...which means the display isn't recognised correctly...

When rebooting with the RX 5700 XT as main GPU the screen turns black at the same point...

So have no screen either with iGPU nor with RX 5700 XT:...

YESSS (o;

Missed the WEG boot flag adgpmod=pikera

Both GPUs are enabled now, RX5700XT and Intel iGPU...

Now I just need to figure out how to make this permanent...e.g. that it installs Clover 4961 and not 5102...

Maybe install the normal way, downgrade Clover and check if all kexts are there...

Hmm...h264 encoding is much slower in Davinci Resolve Studio....40fps for 1080p50 instead of 175fps before on High Sierra...

your setup is wrong, the device IGPU should not be shown in the System Information
(iMac) IGPU should be configured in headless mode

in your current setup

if you launch the Davinci Resolve Stuido in the display connected to RX 570, it will not make use of the IGPU for hardware video acceleration

you may try connect another display to IGPU, move the Davinci Resolve Stuido app window from RX 570 connected display to IGPU connected display, the IGPU should take care the Davinic app

Okay....seems to be recognised now....

Getting now around 110fps for transcoding 1080p video....
much slower than on macOS 10.13.6 with same machine but with GTX1060...

Okay...installed now bootloader with Multibeast for Mojave...seems to use an older Clover version which also doesn't hang like the one installed with UniBeast...

So

  • RX 5700 XT is working
  • iGPU encoding is working 40% slower than on 10.13.6
What is not working:

  • Sleep mode causes reboot

sleep can be annoying to sort out

one way is to make sure you follow the usb port guide:
