Are M.2 ssd drive's compatible with Hackintosh ? And can you install OS X on it ?

Hi there,

I have an important question about my upcoming Hackintosh build.

I would use a M.2 SSD for the fastest performance I can get. My question is can I install OS X on a M.2 drive and boot from it ?
Is it fully compatible with Hackintosh ?

I really hope some one will respond to my question because it is very important to buy the right components for my Hackintosh !

Yes. The easiest M.2 SSD is the ACHI, not the NVMe which requires a kext and some additions installation steps. See my Gene build description on how I installed a Samsung 950 Pro M.2 NVMe SSD.
