APRICORN VEL-SOLO SSD caddy

I keep seeing the add for this little device on this site. I have gone to NewEgg and other sites to research compatibility. I haven't found anything to justify that this device works on a Mac platform. It would be nice to use as it gets its power from the PCI slot and shouldn't bottle neck a fast SSD.

Anyone have a link to site that lists success or successed on here getting it to work.

I have one and it works fine.

It can even be a boot drive on a Gigabyte mobo.

How does the bios recognize that as a boot drive? Seems really convenient.

It shows up as a boot device automatically.

Really, no need to install any BIOS drivers or OS kext. Sweetness, will order one soon.
Macman, did it truly perform at SATA3 speed? The reviews are very mixed.

While going online to buy I saw Syba Dual Drive PCI Adaptor.
Does this one work as well under OSX environment.

Have one of these and it will not work with a Z77-UP5 TH board under any version of bios f7 to f11 . Works on older type bios but not on new one (UEFI)
