Galaxy.pngApple includes an example app with Xcode's documentation called Galaxies, which performs an NBody simulation (many planets/stars' gravitational fields interacting) using OpenGL for placement and display, and OpenCL to calculate the forces acting on each object for each update. The result is a good informal test of the OpenCL devices on a given system, and their relative power. Since CPU cores are OpenCL devices too, the simulation can run on a single CPU core, all CPU cores, or a GPU.

I've made a few modifications to the source to clean some things up and make it a little more modern/friendly, including giving the controls before the simulation starts. Press Cmd-Q at any time to quit.

Here's my 660- seems to be vsync'd to refresh rate on my monitor.

the app. only works with Mountain Lion?
I have 10.7.4 with gtx 550 and does not work.
