AppleHDA Surround Sound [Guide]

Since Catalina is compatible with Dolby Atmos, it's possible to configure some way to be able to play it on hackintosh?
I'm not sure as only supported macs seems to be laptops? I don't understand why.
I tried to configure it on Audio Midi Setup but I was only able to configure a 7.1 option, leaving some channels without use.

no one knows???

Hey everybody!
If someone does not have "Encoded digital audio" in Audio Midi Setup and therefore has a problems with getting out DTS/Dolby output with IINA player, here is a little hack for IINA to force the passthrough of encoded audio. Just add coreaudio-spdif-hack=yes parameter in Advanced section like this

and of course this

View attachment 447330

This is a description of what it is doing:
--coreaudio-spdif-hack=<yes|no>Try to pass through AC3/DTS data as PCM. This is useful for drivers which do not report AC3 support. It converts the AC3 data to float, and assumes the driver will do the inverse conversion, which means a typical A/V receiver will pick it up as compressed IEC framed AC3 stream, ignoring that it's marked as PCM. This disables normal AC3 passthrough (even if the device reports it as supported). Use with extreme care.
I've added a Coaxial Out bracket to my Gigabyte Z87M-D3H Mobo. I followed Toleda's customisation guide to substitute SPDIF-2 Wire Output for ALC892 and my Coax Out is working, just not encoded audio as expected. Therefore, I tried to follow the above instructions and hope to get AC3/DTS passthrough to work on IINA. Unfortunately, it didn't work. When I started the IINA player and playback AC3 encoded audio, I got a loud click and then no sound afterwards. BY THE WAY, I'm using MacOS Mojave and latest IINA player version 1.1.1 build 125. Anyone has ideas? I really hope to get AC3/DTS passthrough to work. Thanks!
