This just in from the El Capitan Developer Beta. As of OS X 10.11, the cursor design to show the user to wait because of a delayed process has been updated. The 'spinning beachball of death', or 'pinwheel of death' as it is sometimes referred to has changed to a flatter design with brighter colors. This is the first major change since Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar.

No you won't. Though I will quickly learn to hate the new one, just as much!

There is also a new Disk Utility, which does not re-size properly yet!

I'm going to miss the spinning pin wheel :beachball::beachball::beachball:

Flat ball.

What do we flatten next? *looks doubtfully at icons* Oh dear, is there anything left to flatten?

Yeah I have bad news. They are going to do a new mouse cursor theme too! It was drawn by Tim Cooks Nephew.

But in all seriousness I think apple is doing flat a lot nicer then Google Android does with their single tone pastel colors. They use lovely Gradaints. Flat Pastel icons look a lot worse.
