Apple Updates MacBook, MacBook Pro and iMac with Kaby Lake CPUs

What I expect is that there is already a modified version of 10.12.5 out there, because new iMacs are available from day one and they do have AMD RX580 and Kabylake's on board. I'm very curious to know if they are sold with a different minor release of 12.5 or what else... if this is the case there is no need to wait for 12.6 or High Sierra PB, the support should already in place in that modified version...

The recent update for the 2017 iMacs also includes a firmware update. So, be very careful. I won't go installing the update w/o some research. I haven't and won't. I'll await 10.12.6.

New iMac use only Intel HD640 not HD630. Yes that are new graphics KBL drivers but no works with HD630. So no new support for HD530/HD630 in future version of Mac OS.

I think historically the newly released models had some customised versions of OSX installed on them to support the new features, and then those features landed into the main codebase later on. So the new iMacs/MacBooks might come with customised 10.12.5, and then the new features (updated drivers) might be available to everybody in 10.12.6 or even 10.13.0.

Apple could also be doing the same types of tricks as hackintoshers do to make KabyLake seen as SkyLake because the speed is so high no one would be able to tell the difference. The difference is Apple does need to use external config files. They wrote the SMBIOS and API and can spoof the processor internally so no one knows. They may have been doing it since Kaby Lakes release.

Wouldn't the i7 7700 they offer in the high end normal iMac use HD630?

If Apple sticks with using mobile architecture instead of desktop to keep noise and heat down, they would use the 640 Iris graphics instead of the HD630.
Just depends on their logic board and the specific model of processor they use.

I'm thinking of trying to build a hackintosh with a i5 7600 Kalby Lake and a Gigabyte 270 series board. Im not super savy with changing code or going through long process to get Sierra working on my build. I already have all the components from my PC build that has a an i7 5820k and Asus X-99A board, which has proved way to hard for me to get working and running solid.
So I'm looking for advice on the best gigabyte board that will work the easiest and allow me to upgrade later as well. I feel like if I buy a 170 series board it will be outdated by next year.
I also plan on editing on Final Cut Pro X and have a Radeon Pro GPU that use to be in the mac pros. The only thing I need to do is swap out my processor and board to do my new build but I would like to get the most stable and easy board to work with the new Kalby Lake CPUs.

170 boards are getting pricier and harder to come by. Go with a 270 board.
I wouldn't recommend a mini-ITX board if you want to upgrade later as there is only one PCI-e slot and 2 DIMM slots. Adding RAM above 32GB will be really pricey and a video card will be pretty much the only thing you can utilize.
