Hi,

I have a NUC8i5BEH running MacOS Mojave. So far I have been using a monitor using HDMI. I now want to switch to a Thunderbolt Display using an Apple Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) adapter but without any luck. The display doesn't turn on. These are the things I've tried:

  • Checking the display on a 2018 MacBook Pro with the same adapter to see if the display and adapter work. They do.
  • Changing the BIOS display setting to Firewire first or second. No success.
  • Booting on HDMI only, then plugging in the monitor when MacOS has booted. No success. HDMI monitor keeps working.
  • Booting on Thunderbolt only. No success.
  • Booting with both monitors attached. No succes. HDMI monitor keeps working.
  • Updating the Kexts and clover. No success.
Does anyone have an idea to get the monitor to work? Help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I had no luck with the same on linux (no hackintosh) !
did you play with the BIOS settings ? You can start by disabling thunderbolt security, or try DP only

Sorry to hear that you had no luck! :(

Thanks for the tip! I tried different thunderbolt security settings but without any luck...
