I'm running a Hackintosh with Intel3000. I need to install the Apple ProRes codecs on my system. Normally, I would have it by installing FCPX or Compressor via Mac App Store. The problem is it won't let me because "my computer's video card does not meet the minimum system requirements".

When I try to install only the codecs via this link :
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1396

It gives me an error "ProApps QuickTime codecs can't be installed on this disk. An error occurred while evaluating JavaScript for the package."

So I was wondering, is there a way to fix this?

Thanks!

Have you got fully GE/CI support in the card?

Dude, come on! You got a screaming fast 2700K.... then you cripple your Hackintosh by using lame-o HD3000 graphics. Get a video card to match your 2700K!

If you have a 6870, Apple Prores works.

If you have Compressor 4, and it's up-to-date via the Appstore, you don't need the link above. It's an old version, and it wouldn't even allow you to install it and overwrite the later ones installed by C4.

Does QE/CI work with 3000? If does you "have" a card and you can run FCP.

If you aren't sure, please google the multiple ways to check it. If you don't have fully functional QE/CI its impossible to run FCP, even if you modify the installer and the app to baypass the check.
