The Space Grey Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad, Magic Mouse 2, and Magic Trackpad 2 are no more exclusive to the iMac Pro. Apple is now selling these accessories as standalone options and you don't have to be an iMac Pro owner to get one. Although they are a different color than the standard silver versions, they are priced a little higher.

I have that keyboard but it doesn't use mechanical switches. The closest I've found is the Matias Tactile Pro which uses the same Alps key switches Apple used back in the 1990s.

It is killing me that they won't make the normal, smaller size, magic keyboard in black also

I'll second the vote for wasdkeyboards. I have a keyboard from them with Cherry MX Brown switches and it's great.

If anyone's interested, I recommend buying the keyboard "switch tester" sampler from them (http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/products/sampler-kit.html) so that you can decide which switch you like best. (For example - blues are clicky and great for typing.)
