I am trying to clean install the latest Monterey (12.3.1) on a GA-H270N-WIFI with a Kaby Lake processor (i5 7600K) using the HD630 graphics. I have followed Dortania's guide and the computer successfully recognizes the USB and seems to get to the installer, the Apple logo appears for about 2 seconds with a progress bar below it, but then immediately the screen goes black and I'm stuck.

I can only surmise that there is something wrong with the graphics settings. Please check my config.plist attached and let me know if you see anything wrong. I'm using iMac18,1 for my smbios.

Note that this computer has been running Catalina perfectly for some time now, so I'm assuming I don't need to change anything in te BIOS.

As well as my config.plist attached, I am also pasting here the last few lines of the log that opencore created and placed on my USB's EFI partition. I can attach that whole log if it would be helpful.

SSDT-UIAC.aml should be removed as you already using USBPorts.kext

Lilu.kext should be first on your list in your config.plist

re check your bios settings

OK thank you so much @Feartech!
I am using ProperTree to edit my config.plist but I'm not sure I know how to rearrange the order of entries. I will look into that.
Thanks again.

As an aside, I tried using the MacPro6,1 identifier and after the Apple logo I got two alternating images, which I've attached. I have no idea what they mean, but they just kept alternating and wouldn't let me go further.

means it is unable to find your bluetooth keyboard and mouse, use a wired keyboard and mouse, press spacebar at that screen

OK. I was using a wired keyboard but a wireless mouse (not bluetooth).

if your usb keyboard is detected, press spacebar, that should remove the message and carry on with installation

Does anyone know if this part is correct:

I was trying to follow this part of the guide for Kaby Lake:

Yes that looks correct, although I would also add the following:

device-id 59120000 (DATA)
framebuffer-fbmem 00009000 (DATA)
framebuffer-stolenmem 00003001 (DATA)
framebuffer-unifiedmem 00000080 (DATA)

These settings will fully enable the VRAM & Intel Quicksync

OK I have implemented the above changes, and now the installer is doing its thing. 12 minutes to go. Yay!

The install completed and I have been able to boot to the desktop. It looks like everything is working as expected EXCEPT the HD 630 graphics. The screen is very unresponsive and according to the "About this Mac" splash screen there is only 8 MB of VRAM. When I boot to Catalina (Clover) I have 1536 MB. Big difference!

What do I need to do to get 1536 MB for my graphics in Monterey?
