pulling my hair out here :)

cheers

I finally managed to get iCloud working!

The problem in my case was related to Little Snitch. Although I accepted any new connections, when asked - I even disabled the network filter - iCloud immediately started working, when I uninstalled Little Snitch.

I was running 2.4.4, which is the current version.
I guess it is safe to install little snitch again, once you iCloud account is verified.

Just thought this could be of use to someone :)

Hi, I am about to try this guide, because nothing else appears to be working for me.
So much so that the last method I tried prevented me from being able to boot up again (got stuck on the gray apple intro screen loading forever and then continually rebooting to the same spot), resulting in me having to do a clean install of my entire operating system from 10.6.3 all the way back up to 10.7.2.
HUGE HASSLE. I noticed in some forums that people talk about the ability to boot a backup. I have never done this before.
I was wondering if anyone could direct to me a thread about how to do that. I couldn't find one in the search section.
I want to make sure this is a possibility before I try these methods. Just in case. Please someone help me out. Thank you.

Good point. Make sure you post this in the Official iCloud thread for those who have iCloud issues.

Try rBoot in the downloads section. then if you reach your desktop replace your org.chameleon.boot.plist with the one you have before.

I tried that and got the "mach" error. Is there any other option? I don't want to spend another 3 hours re-setting up my entire system. Applications and all.

While you are on the boot screen at the startup. Highlight your mac partition and write -v -x -f then hit enter
This will boot you in safe mode, caches ignored and verbose. See if you can reach the desktop and reply.

I tried that last night as well. Still didn't get me in. I don't want to confuse you, my system is functional now. I am just wondering what you would recommend I do to prevent that from happening again, before I try the method laid out in this guide.

My recommendation is to Clean all of the EFI Strings in the boot.plist and install Latest Lnx2Mac network driver then apply methods 1&2 only.
This is what i did,if you update to lion 10.7.2, it causes issues with EFI Strings. Since EFI Strings causes you boot problems you can do this
it does the same job. I can access App Store, iCloud everything is fine.
