Has anyone got Sonoma to run on their HP 6300, i5 3470 CPU with a Video GT710? I'm still running Big Sur (installation used to be pretty easy on these a few years back using the stock hardware and the gt710). But just wondering if all is going to work with my hardware and Sonoma. I see there is an Opencore Github for the 6300/8300. But just wondering if will have better performance with an older OS.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Some have it "working" while applying OCLP patches for the CPU and graphics. Performance won't be as good as an older OS like Big Sur. That's a given. It would make more sense to buy an 8th/9th gen Intel based prebuilt that has supported UHD630 graphics. Then you can upgrade to even Sequoia later on too. Check Dell/HP models on Ebay. Prices have come way down this year.

With one of these Micro PCs by Dell, Sonoma will run way better. Can't beat this price for the specs.

Your hardware including the graphics card is no longer supported on Sonoma.

As stated it is much better for you to upgrade your hardware if you want to run Sonoma.

Thanks for the reply @trs96. Will Monetery be a better bet with my 6300 and the GT710? With the software I wanna use the minimum OS requirement is Monetary. So maybe its a better bet to upgrade to Monetery. Thanks in advance for any advice :)

Does this Optiplex work with all the stock hardware? Or will it need a different graphics card? Or could I se my GT710 in this unit?

For Monterey it would be better to use something by AMD like an RX560 card. Just avoid the XFX brand.
Many for sale on Ebay.com. A used AMD WX4100 card will work too and has similar performance.
