Greetings folks from the tonymaxx86 forum.
I've already written another post, but it doesn't seem to work since I can't open it without an "Invalid Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator".

I'll try again. I'm the owner of a M4700. I found out that even though it's hardware wise more powerful than my dear colleagues MacBook Pros, then it so much slower in those applications I use for my work, e.g. Photoshop, Capture One Pro, Premier Pro, Pro Tools LE 8 etc., and hopefully these applications will run faster with OSX and my hardware.

DISCLAIMER: There's no illegal intentions behind this post, or this experiment. I've purchased all of my software/hardware legally, e.g. Photoshop (even though I damn myself of purchasing the Adobe Master Collection CS5.5 Student Edition. I should've bought the Adobe Production Premium CS5.5 Student Edition instead:banghead:)

Is there some helpful souls in this forum who can guide me in what OSX I should invest in with this laptop as a dualboot, WIFI solutions, installation procedure that works with the M4700 etc.
I'm thinking about installing OSX on the mSATA SSD, and Windows 7 64-bit on the 840 Pro, so that it's two different physical SSD's instead of partitions on the same one, but you guys know what to do.

These are my specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3940XM CPU 3.00GHz
Intel(R) 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family AHCI
Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection
Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6205
IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
NVIDIA Quadro K2000M (dedicated)
LITEONIT LMT-256M6M mSATA 256GB
Samsung SSD 840 PRO series 256GB
O2Micro Integrated MMC/SD controller
Dell Wireless 380 Bluetooth 4.0 Module
Dell Touchpad (Alps)
Dell UltraSharp U2413
HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GS40N

I don't have much experience with Nvidia, but I think I've heard of success with K2000M.

Intel WiFi is not supported, so that will need to be replaced.

Read compatibility overview: http://www.tonymacx86.com/laptop-compatibility/106791-laptop-compatibility.html

If you have UEFI capability, use Clover: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...oting-os-x-installer-laptops-clover-uefi.html

You can use Clover without UEFI (and you may want to try that), but I don't cover a legacy install in that guide.

Unibeast/Chimera (or Chameleon), read here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...-booting-os-x-installer-laptops-unibeast.html

Also, you will find many of the stickies here useful: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-laptop-support/

Thanks for the links - I'll be sure to check them out:)
But this is for the newest Yosemite OSX which I've heard a lot a critique of, but what OSX is most stable with my configuration? I've heard good about Mountain Lion in terms of performance and stability, but some people swear to Snow Leopard as well. The most important factor is that it runs stable and smooth, and that I can run my applications smoothly (hopefully as smoothly as a real MacBook Pro).
My Quadro K2000M is also extremely important, so if you know who made it work I'll sure be happy if you could send me a link to the guides and/or drivers. Again thanks for your help.

Your CPU is supported starting with Lion 10.7.5.

"Stable and smooth" will depend on your skill hacking it.

As for other experience with Nvidia, use search/google.
