AMD Vega 64 overheating and fan issues High Sierra.

Probably not, my card runs at 70 when gaming on it or exporting stuff from twin motion or UE. I have not looked at temps .
I have 2 GPUs.
  • Vega 64 Idle Catalina HWmonitor GPU die 127C° (is not real), on HWsensor2/3 and XRG temp's up to 70C°, On Windows GPU-Z 30C°.
  • GTX 760 Idle Catalina HWmonitor, HWsensor2/3 and XRG temp's 35C°, On Windows GPU-Z 30C°.
I do not know why on Vega 64 Catalina idle 70C° I don't have a temperature gauge, just touch with my hand and this is real Vega 64 feels very hot compared to GTX760.

Are you sure it will fix the problem? Because on Windows I only got 30C° when idle.

No. Everyone's results will be different.

Is this a different EFI driver or Kext when I use Nvidia or Vega 64?
Can you give me your EFI on Vega that you have? Thanks

There are no special kexts for Vega 56/64. Drivers are built-in to macOS.

You can find my EFI on my Z370 build thread. Link is below in my signature.

check your idle temp with :

ioreg -l |grep \"PerformanceStatistics\" | cut -d '{' -f 2 | tr '|' ',' | tr -d '}' | tr ',' '\n'|grep 'Temp\|Fan'

maybe the programs you are using are reporting the incorrect temps.. My XFX Vega 64 is at 40c right now and I have a movie running.

About undervolting:
Is if we do undervolting on Windows will automatically work on Catalina (ie same hardware only SSD different)?
