Is that FakeID actually needed for Haswell ? I was running a system with just that plaform id (0d220003). Will the fake id give any further benefit ?

The accelerator fix is the 0d220003 it depends if you have a i5 or i7 Haswell it's probably not needed, because it will get picked up anyways as it's " native". I have a pentium G3258 which is a 04028086 so I spoof it to 0x04120002 to get support.

For Sierra, the igpu or integrated graphics requirement for the newer AMD cards is why it's needed. People at inject Intel tend to have problems with certain open CL programs like FCPX.

El Capitan is a whole different animal compared to Sierra, and Nvidia graphics setup also changed a bit.

Hi!

I currenrly run the following setup with Sierra, completely installed linke mention in the guid in tonymacx86.

It's a dualboot with OSX on my 840 SSD and Win 10 on my 850 (2 partitions, 100gb for windows and 360gb NTFS for data shared with mac) I own a paragon license.

Intel Xeon E3-1230v3 | VTX3D HD 7850 X-Edition | 8Gb Crucial Ballistix Sport 1600 DDR3-CL9 | Samsung 840 Evo | Samsung 850 Evo | ASRock B85M-HDS | Corsair RM500x

I was wondering if i can upgrade to any rx 480 or what else would be the best choice? I'm kinda afraid for problems after reading this thread. And what would I have to do for ugrading...

Follow the instructions on this thread to get a rx 480 to work on your system.

You will need to use the 7850 as a IGPU/IGFX card. It will act like a integrated graphics card for the Polaris card. a Polaris card will not run on its own in dedicated graphics mode, you get black screen. The RX card has to go in slot 2 to work. Its been done this way by a few testers with X99 boards. I've done it with Z170 and Z97 using AMD and Nvidia helper/IGPU cards in dedicated graphics mode (PCIE as Primary Display).

I see, the problem is that my mainboard only supports 1 PCIe card... So I think I have to hunt for an used gtx 980 ... Most simple solution.
