Hi,

I need help with Asus Z390, I9 9900k, Radeon VII

I still have z170 and i6600k and Vega 56 and everything working perfectly fine.

Trying to upgrade to i9 9900k with z390 Asus z390 Prime-A and Radeon VII but results on some tests are even worst. Whole thing feels very laggy even now when I am typing whole machine feels laggy on z390, different feel from x170. I am uploading my EFI if someone can help. I am on 10.15.5 beta (19f83c)

Attached my EFI, also tried tons of different EFI, some will show intel 630 but still lag is there, with the current EFI that I upload only Radeon Vii is visible.View attachment 469393

Can someone help with this please, what needs to be done here?

Thanks a lot

What is your native resolution? Do you see the situation? Your display is at 30Hz!

I suggest your change to a lower resolution 60Hz.

Yes, I use 2560x1440 @ 60hz but for some reason it was forcing it at 30hz .

I resolved it and created my user build if anyone is interested, everything working:

  1. AddDTGP check
  2. Plugin type check
  3. Remove those boot args and add agdpmod=pikera
Again I did everything that was said, and the performance remains strange with respect to the performance in MOJAVE. Now with the boot flag cleaning, and added agdpmod = pikera, in the second boot stage the monitor turns off, loses the hdmi signal, which does not happen if you remove agdpmod = pikera. I did the test again after the sleep / wake cycle, send the result and again the EFI and IOReg files. Thanks a lot for the help.

IoReg still doesn't show the framebuffer as loaded.

Delete or disable these two entries, they are handled better by WEG:

@mattystonnie , on another forum the other guy is claiming we should not be using any of the methods listed here, thought i'd just leave this here. Some clarification on this would be good please.View attachment 469815

Ohh no... I really can’t believe he said that....It ruined my day.

Everything started when I got my hand on a new RX 5500 XT and I was not happy with the performance, then I looked how a real mac does the injection with the navi gpus and I applied to our hackintosh.

And if everyone looks at the thread Navi Gpus here on Tonymac, you will see how I started to post and test togheter with the members.

After 1-2 weeks this guy Chris started to post on other forums and all over the internet this injection using a dummy kext from someone else, claims that it’s his idea and I confronted him and he said: “I don’t know you”....

Well, I learned my lesson and will not post my future discoveries, I will just show pictures with the performance.

Edited: Can’t believe he talks like that and blaming Apple for this.

The bigger question here is will your method work with 10.15.5... or are we back to the drawing board?
